SUPER Moist Chocolate Cake for My Hubster!!

Yesterday was my husband's 34th birthday.. "Happy birthday gons!! Love u!" Since my so called quarantine period is still not over yet, this year there's no biggie and happening celebration but i decided to surprise him with my very own home bake moist chocolate cake. I got this recipe online. OMG... it's supper yummeh and super moist ok!! *bejoget jap*

The recipe is very easy and simple.. What i like the most is that the measurement is using cup method *joget again* and the ingredients are very simple. First attempt and I can easily remember without having to look at the recipe anymore :D

So here goes with my simplified how to version..

Super Moist Chocolate Cake

250gm butter
1 cup castor sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 tea spoon vanilla essence
4 eggs
1 cup of fresh milk (warm)
11/4 cup of self raising flour
3/4 cup of van houten cocoa powder

how to:

1. Mix the butter, castor sugar, brown sugar and vanilla essence in one big bowl using mixer (kudos to my MIL for the mixer since i don't have one :D)

2. Put in the eggs one by one into the same big bowl. Mix it well.

3. Pour in the warm fresh milk and self raising flour into the mixture. Do not use mixer anymore and make sure you do it one by one repeatedly. Milk first then flour.

4. And the last step, pour in the cocoa powder into the mixture and bake the mixture roughly about 1 1/2 hour.

Simple Chocolate Ganache

200ml of whipping cream
(kudos to my Sue my ex colleague for letting me know where to buy, her husband is a chef with Berjaya)
Half bar of the van houten cooking chocolate
20gm butter

1. Heat up the whipping cream for about 15 minutes.. put aside for 2 minutes and then put in the coking chocolate and butter. Mix it well and then put inside your fridge to let it cool and thick.

What's Happening in March & April 2011???

I just got back from a 3D2N trip @ Penang with hubby, my bff Qimie and her hubby. The trip was extremely awesome!! <3ing it!! Thumbs up!! and at this particular moment i am super busy doing the unpacking, laundry, dish washing and to transfer 296 peektures taken from our penang trip to my desktop.

3 hotels review, one from surprise anniversary stay, d romantic Chorus Paradise Cabana & two from our recent penang trip, d owh so comfy Vistana & d marvelous HARD ROCK HOTEL!! coming up soon :D

Okey peeps.. need to complete the house chores. In the mean time.. Enjoy the teaser!!! :D

It is our anniversary month still. We got married on 7th March 2008. It has been 3 wonderful years. Lots of activities have been planned to celebrate our 3rd year anniversary. We gonna spend our weekend @ Corus Hotel this week and next week if everything goes well.. another short trip to Penang with my bff Qimie and her darling hubby who happen to be celebrating their anniversary as well next month. Thank you for being such a supportive hubby for the past 3 years. Especially after what we went through last year.

Our marriage may not be perfect..

A day after V Day..

It's a public holiday today.. Woke up as early as 6.30am and the initial plan was to take hubby's Cambo for some photo hunting. Had our breakfast at Tanglin... again! :D owh.. and this time around i manage to snapped a photo of the oh-so-yummeh Tanglin Nasi Lemak.

Very the mouth watering isn't it?? :D

Once we are done with the yummeh breakfast, hubby took me for a city sightseeing. Drove along the Jalan Petaling Street, Stadium Merdeka, Central Market area. Out of sudden he came out with this one idea for his photo shoot. So we stop by at this one famous flower boutique in Lorong Hang Lekir and bought some sunflowers, casablanca lilies (my fav!) and roses for my mil. By the way.. this is where I bought fresh flowers for my wedding, 3 years ago :D.

Sunday Makeover

It was a busy sunday for me and hubby. We had the famous nasi lemak tanglin for breakfast @ 9.00am. It was my second time eating there. The first time was with my boss and clients where we had ikan bakar. The nasi lemak is so yummeh! You can see a long queue in front of the stall no. 6 (hubby was one of them :p). It was a very simple nasi lemak.. nothing fancy but the combination of nasi, sambal especially the sambal sotong and ikan bilis are just perfect for my liking (sorry, no picture taken as i was very hungry and the nasi lemak is super yummeh). Recommended!!!

After the mouth watering breakfast, we off to IKEA for some furniture hunting. We reached there about 10.15am (there earliest record so far) and there were lots of parking available for us to choose :D yay! Hubby wanted to complete his darkroom and i wanted to do my so called makeover near the staircase area.

The makeover results will be posted in the next entry :p

Cooking from the heart - Mentarang with Spicy Oyster Sauce

Ahaks.. Title tak hingat.. chewah.. Well my hubby just got back from landscape shooting at Pantai Jeram, Kuala Selangor. I didn't follow him this time sbb malas nak bangun @ 5.30am.. erk.. He brings home mentarang bought from Pantai Jeram. I was introduce to this mentarang thingy by my husband's family. Never heard of it before.

So my first attempt cooking this mentarang was a great success!! hahaha created my own recipe main campur2 je suma barang.

Mentarang with Spicy Oyster Sauce (2 person):

1. First of all, kena basuh mentarang tu bersih2 sbb they are very muddy.
2. Blend together 1 biji bawang besar, 4 ulas bawang putih and 3 biji cili padi.
3. Panas kan kuali and letak minyak lebih kurang 5 sudu besar (jgn letak sikit sgt ok).
4. Goreng bawang besar yg dipotong bulat smpai naik bau.. then masukkan bahan2 yg diblend tadi.
5. After bahan2 tu dah sebati and nampak berminyak sket barula masukkan sos tiram. I guna lebih kurang 3 sudu besar. Masukkan garam and mentarang and gaul sehingga sebati. Kalau nak bagi kuah nampak gelap sikit letak 1/2 sudu besar kicap manis cap kipas udang.
6. Masak sampai kuah mentarang tu jadi pekat and kemudian boleh la terus dimakan dgn nasi yg baru masak panas2. Yummeh..

Birthday Gateway - Colmar Tropicale, Berjaya Hills Bukit Tinggi

I've been wanting to stay at Colmar Tropicale since our first trip, way before we were married. At that point of time my hubby (my fiance back then) has just started his new hobby which is taking macro shots. So we had few trips to Bukit Tinggi (Japanese Village) for the bugs hunting. So since it's my birthday month, I have requested for a short gateway (2D1N) and off we go... Let the peektures do the talking ok.. :D

Overall it was a good trip although it was a wet trip though... Haha raining all the way from the first day we arrived till the day we checked out. The photo shoot of me wearing kimono at Japanese Village had to be postponed to a later trip i guess. Luckily the place is not that far from our place so we have no problem to plan another trip soon. Right cik??? :)

5 Things to love about Colmar Tropicale:

1. It's affordable.. Plan your trip in advance as they offer up to 25% discount if you book 30 days in advance :D
2. Nice room.. love the canopy bed so much!! lovely and oh.. so comfy :D
3. The in-room dining is absolutely delicious!! we ordered oxtail soup and special nasi goreng with satay and chicken wing.. yummeh!!
4. I am very particular about the hotel bathroom.. i love this one although it was just a simple setting but it has a water pipe next to the toilet bowl.. Yay!! very important element to me la..
5. Offer you a nice surrounding if you are into photography.. hahaha very suitable for ppl yg pantang nampak camera like me :D. French themed resort.. 2,700 feet above sea level.. 80 acres of peaceful rainforest.. need i say more?? :D

Owh.. another essential tip.. the blocks are interconnected at the basement floors (parking floors) so just so happen if you go there during raining season like us.. please don't bother to run in the rain from one block to another :D

Closing of a sad chapter: Remembering our little bambino

I wasn't realize that yesterday was the last day for the year 2010. i guess the ending for this year was the toughest one so far. me and my hubby were going through another sad chapter in our life right now. how i wish if i can just keep it nicely in a a box, sealed and buried so that the pain and heartache can go but i guess certain things are easier said than done. so i decided to write it here as every time i was being asked about wut happen on that day, it has never failed to stop tears from coming down.

it was christmas and we were just got back from a cousin wedding in bagan serai. on our way back from my mil's house, we stop by to tapau dinner. it was around 9.30 at that time. as i waited for my hubby inside the car i was having this pain. i tot it was due to the urinary tract infection (uti) since our obgyn told me that the uti was still there during our tuesday routine check up. we went home, had our dinner and slept early. it was already 2.00am but i cudn't sleep due to the pain. it has becoming more frequent. it was so painful and i also noticed some discharged came out every time i go to the loo. i switched on the pc and start googling for info and found out that it cud be 'air ketuban' and the painful thingy cud be a contraction. my baby is only 19 weeks.. i cannot be having all this now. tried not to panicked, i start to take the timing of the pain. the pain came every 15-20 minutes. so i woke my husband up and told him about the googling info and the liquid discharge. he rushed me to the clinic nearby. sakitnyer and makin banyak air keluar.. up until the point that the water burst and bdak registration clinic tu cakap akak kencing ke. doc told my husband to rush me to the nearest hospital asap. i started crying not knowing wut was happening and sbb sakit makin kuat n kerap. i talked to my baby "baby duduk dlm diam2 ok, ayah bwk kite g hospital". by the time we reached hospital selayang emergency i was rushed to the doc's room. i cannot remember anything except for when the doc told d nurse that my baby dah nak kluar. dlm hati i talked to my baby "baby takleh kluar dulu sbb u r still kecik.. baby sabar n duduk dulu diam2 dlm perut mummy ok" the nurse told my husband that we are going to 11th floor. sitting on the wheelchair all the way to the 11th floor the pain has becoming more frequent. the doc @ 11th floor told me that ur baby is coming out mase dkt atas katil dlm bilik rawatan but we have to wait for ur serviks to be fully dilated and she said she can no longer see my baby heartbeat. i was trying to be positive and told my baby dlm hati "mebbe sbb baby dah engaged kat serviks kat bwh, sbb tu doc takleh nampak jantung baby" so they bring me to katil no 11 and plan to give me something to ease the pain. br sampai dkt bed 11 tu i told d doc and d nurse i rase macam nak berak.. so there n then d doc asked me to try to push every time contraction dtg. within few pushed i can feel that my baby came out and doc told me to keep pushing slowly sbb diorg nak kluarkan uri. doc tanye do you want to see your baby and all i can do is nod. there he was my beautiful baby boy. i can see his tiny fingers are all complete, his beautiful eyes, nose and mouth are already completely form. doc even show me his little birdie. birdie yg kitorg sgt excited tgk mase scan hari selasa lepas dgn doc kay dekat naluri. airmata terus turun laju.. "mummy dapat jumpa baby finally.. even kejap je...." after that all i can remember is the face of my baby..

my along told me that my baby's face is just like me.. i remember sempat told my husband that i want to name him baby kharleel.. sbb ade berangan sorang2 jugak nama baby cuma me and my husband blum decide on his name officially.

being admitted again at the same ward 11 kat hospital selayang due to fever and the katil 17 is exactly facing katil 11 tempat where i delivered my baby is so tough, up until i order the curtain on the left side to be close all the time so i don't have to look at the katil 11. Alhamdullilah after 3 days, dmam finally ok and dah boleh discharge.

to my husband "sorry for losing anak ayah.... and i cannot thank u enough for everything that u have done for me and anak ayah"

to my family members, in laws and my bff qimie .. thank u so much for being there for me..

to my colleagues in cx.. thank u sbb ambil berat and tanye kabar.

and to lydia, semah, wan, iza, diane, yaya, murni thanks for visiting and cheering up my day

Alhamdulillah am getting stronger and better. Thanks to the continuous support from hubby, families and beloved friends. People always said good things happen to good people. I guess though it has left me with a deep scar, as a muslim i believe that our anak ayah is now safe in God's hand. May his soul rest in peace. Amin.

Make up job - Wanie's Engagement

I was having my first paid make up job today. Haha.. was a bit nervous at first because it is my first time doing make up for someone other than my sisters and some more i got paid for this job.. I need to be extra careful as there are client expectation involved. Ok.. let me tell you few things about the client background. She's actually my husband colleague. A very sweet girl.. She has never done any make up before. I need to be extra careful on her left eye as it is a bit sensitive. Since this is only for engegement we have agreed to do something light and sweet.. i don't want to be doing heavy shading as it would only make her skin tone look darker. This is what i used for her make up today.

Step # 1
I used M.A.C Charged Water Skin Hydrating Mist.
Spray all over her clean face.

Step # 2
Using a clean sponge.. I dab a few M.A.C Prep+Prime skin Enhancer Illuminateur.
Smooth evenly all over the face or to desired areas.

Step # 3
Using a small make up brush, i used Lamovi Pro Green Color Concealer to cover some spot/redness. Smooth evenly using the small brush.

Step # 4
Using a foundation brush, i then apply M.A.C Select SPF 15 Foundation (NC40) all over the face evenly. If you want heavy coverage you can apply it double.

Step # 5
I then apply M.A.C Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation (NC40) using the big brush all over the face evenly.

Step # 6
For shading effect, i apply M.A.C Bronzing Powder (Solar Riche) slight below her cheekbone.

Step # 7
I apply M.A.C Cream Color Base (Shell Frost) on the eyelids and her cheekbones before eyeshadow and blusher. This cream base is very amazing as it is capable to lock the eyeshadow and blusher color longer.. and you don't have to spent a lot buying those cream type eyeshadow/ blusher. It works just as good as using the cream type.

Step # 8
For her eyeshadow, i choose M-2108 color palette color 320 (outer eyelid), 319 (inner eyelid) and 315 to make shading. Followed by Secret Glamour eyeliner (very black) and Silkygirl Lash Prism Waterproof Mascara Blackest Black. I also add Silkygirl Funky Eyelights Pencil color Frosty Silver.

Step # 9
Follow with Silkygirl Shimmer Duo Blusher 04 Sunny Glow.

Step # 10
Shading to make the nose look pointed.. hehe.. and please don't overly do it.. unless it is for bridal reception make up.

Step # 11
Apply silkygirl Moisture Rich Lip color no. 23 on d lips followed by Loreal Glam Shine Gloss (Juice). Oh i forgot, i used silkygirl Long Wearing Lipliner (02 mauve) before applying the lipstick.

Step # 11
Re-apply M.A.C Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation (NC40) using the big brush all over the face evenly.

Open House @ Family Gathering 2008

The first open house was for family members only. I'm gonna have another round of open house for frens, schedule next weekend. I'm still awake.. and it's already 2 a.m. the first open house cum family gathering was a success! I started of with groceries shopping @ giant with my mom. Min has his mom n son outing @ zoo negara. I started preparing the dishes at 12 noon.. it was a good plan to start the function at 8 p.m. as I have ample time to do the preparation. Thanks mom for helping me out hehehe.. Quite impressive as all the the dishes was home cook by me n mom..

Alhamdullilah all my family members attended the open house except for my bro, shah a.k.a tokey lomang klasik who only show up at the end of the gathering. Thanks laling for coming all the way from Seremban.. owh.. not to mention my dad too.. Thank you all for coming.. Really appreciate it!

1st day Raya Activities

It feels so good to be able to blogging after a week bed rest due to my not-so-good health condition. I was down with infection somewhere in between my bladder n kidney starting last wednesday.. and it came together with two in one package. Since the pain in my kidney area was not showing any improvement until friday, I was been advise by Dr. Rasi Sharmini (a very nice lady, thanks a lot doc!) to do scanning, urine n blood test. As a result I was given one week medication to remove small particular of gallstone. Yepp.. the result shows that possibility of gallstone found in my bladder area.. good news is, it must be in a very small size as it doesn't show during the scanning. Alhamdullillah I'm getting better.. need to do follow up with Dr. Rasi next monday to do another one round of urine test. Pray for me okay :-)

As told in my previous post, I was celebrating raya with my in laws family in KL. Below are peekturees taken after sembahyang raya.. right before our long journey to Perlis. I was actually a bit blues that morning teringat dkt my family in Seremban.. The best part was after receiving mms from my sis; Sit.. exchanging mms with her. She sent me peekturees of my mom's rendang, ketupat and the sweetest one was the family peekture.. "Linda sayang semua!!"

Anyways.. I was really excited to celebrate this raya as Mrs Hemin with my new family. Thanks to my in laws for treating me as part of the family member. Love you all ;-*

4th day Raya Activities

Salam Aidilfitri to all.. It was the first raya for me as Mrs Hemin. It was fun but basically the celebration is just the same as before except for this year i'm celebrating raya with my husband's family. It was a bit syahdu la since i've been celebrating for the past 28 years with my family.. We were in kl on the raya eve. So after sembahyang raya and photography session, me.. hubby and my in laws hit the road and driving all the way to Perlis to celebrate raya at my father in law's kampung. I've never been to Perlis before.. so i'm a bit 'teruja' la. Well since this is the post for my 4th day raya, i'll skip the stories and will post it later ok.

So after my trip to Perlis.. me n hubby went back to Seremban on Saturday afternoon to celebrate raya at my parent's house. Well sadly to say my Along and Wa were back in kl already. So its just my mom and dad.. and my siblings yg single mingle.

It was a busy day.. with my adik2 from johor (ain, kak jan, nuqill, aisyah, balqis n melor), my ayah n mak from kl dtg tgk their besan and kak nor n family from PD. So after the busy afternoon and evening session, me and hubby decided to go for karaoke session later that night with sit, shah, yani and her bf, faiz.. It was so fun!! hihi.. I love you all. U guys rocks!!!

Introducing Fadhil

We were having our sahur as usual.. and while i was clearing up the table and hubby had his ciggy moment suddenly he called me to come outside. He pointed at fadhil who was sleeping on our shoe cabinet. Poor guy.. it was very cold and dia tido sampai badan dah berlipat, bergulung sebab sejuk.. So i ran upstairs and took the mini towel. Tadaaa..

By the way for those of you who didn't know, Fadhil is our neighbour's cat. We didn't know what's his real name but the name fadhil was given by me :-)

My niece ni memang ade talent nak jadi Malaysia Next Top Model. Just look at the way she posse. This was taken the same day as her earlier peekture. So cute with her cute kaftan.. And.. no.. i didn't teach her to posse like that.. it is just natural.. kid nowadays!.. hihi..

Its now my official ringtone. Honestly i've never heard about d group D'masiv before. Sorry but i guess most of us in Malaysia, D'Masiv name is not as big as Samsons, Padi, Dewa, Sheila On 7 etc.. hey.. but i lurve their song.. Grand Banget!! I just google them.. this is what i found: "d'Masiv adalah band yang terbentuk di Ciledug pd tanggal 03 Maret 2003. sekumpulan anak muda yang gemar bermain musik rajin..."

My Merdeka Eve

Last night i was home alone. Hubby is having his event shooting @ Bukit Bintang. So after completed the house chores while waiting for hubby to return, i kept myself busy with my blog.. hehe.. so i guess u have seen the result right. So i was on ym but too bad.. all my divas were doing something else.. so i juz switched off the pc and decide to watch tv instead. So at about 8.30 i saw the info that the RTM1 will air "The Red Kebaya". I have heard so much about the movie. So there i was waiting to watch the movie @ 8.45.

The Red Kebaya is about the story of one professional photographer who has given an assignment by his company to shoot an old house/building photo. So at the beginning of the movie this photographer sort of has a vision of two boys walking together and one of them is holding a blue kite. He saw it once when he opened his house gate. And on the way to Penang while he stopped by to eat, he saw again the boys. Quite spooky.. as i was alone la kan at that time. So i made a conclusion that this The Red Kebaya must be a horror movie.. hantu etc.

Okey.. lets continue. So once he arrived at the hotel when he download all the photos taken for that day to his surprised, he saw the image of the boys again in one of the picture. He then transfered the file to one of his colleague at the office. Jeng.. jeng ..jeng.. of course la the colleague cannot see the boys image.

So the next day.. while walking around the town he saw one antique shop with a red kebaya on display...

The rest of the stories... haha..better go n find yourself the CD or DVDs or YOU TUBE for the complete story. By the way.. Vee a.k.a Vanidah Imran look so pretty in the movie.. I guess she is looking more beautiful la nowadays..Seriously.. have u see the IN TREND magazine cover? Superb!! don't you think so?

Trying Something New

It all started when my husband forming his photography company with his partners. They setting up "Quad Photography" and one of the service offered by Quad Photography is Studio Shooting. So apparently i have to do make up for the model and it gives me the idea to start doing this part time job. Hubby is kind enough to sponsored me with my make up thingy for me to start this make up business. I'm going to attend the proper make up course in this new future. Wish me luck okey! ;-)

Sorry for not been able to visit you at the hospital. Was busy doin my marketing report n plan. Need to work extra hard as i'm not familiar with the products yet.
